Krystal discusses her experience coming to terms with her identity as a lesbian after losing her mother. Eusebia, who became a mother figure to Krystal after losing her mother, speaks about the connection they formed and how she embraced and supported Krystal as her own. Eusebia challenges societal norms, expressing her acceptance and love for everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation. She emphasizes that being a Christian doesn’t conflict with her belief that gay and lesbian people should be treated with respect in Guyana. Both Krystal and Eusebia advocate for respect and unity for the LGBTQ+ community in Guyana, highlighting the importance of togetherness and mutual understanding.
Eusebia: “I understand that Krystal was a lesbian.
As a child growing up, I always learn that being a lesbian or gay is a bad thing, but I’ve chosen my own path and I choose to accept and embrace and love everybody.
I’m a Christian and I believe we’re all God’s children. God loves everyone including gay and lesbian people.”
